Our story

Like all good things in life, the journey to I LOVE CANDLES began somewhere totally different.

My husband Ross and my-self came originally from a clothing manufacturing background. Ross's father John McBain had a large dress design and manufacturing business, back when business was about personal relationships and handshake deals.

I came to Australia with my family at the age of 18. Straight from a technical high school, trained in fashion design. I worked in a few fashion houses before realising that I did not like it. I have great memories from companies like ADA Production and Robby Cranfield, both in the swimwear field.  I enjoyed the glamour and the hard work but it was not what I wanted to do.

So between us we worked in secretarial, hospitality, waitressing in Russian restaurants, selling promotional chocolate, corporate packaging industry and even the TAB.

Then we joined together in manufacturing our own label of sunglasses. You might remember a cool sunnies shop in Chapel Street, Melbourne called SAVAGE EYEWEAR, yes that was us.

We since have sold that business and moved to the Sunshine Coast. We now have two little girls and our direction in life is somehow different.

So why aromatherapy and candles?

Maybe because we live in such a healthy and beautiful place, or maybe because we are now older and have kids. Our drive and passion in life now is to create product that will make a difference in people’s lives, for the better.

We want to help people relax, heal and feel better, help make their home a tranquil oasis.

The power in improving our home is great. We want to be there. We want to invite people to come and share the experience, opening ourselves to friends and life and being positive.

Yes, lets all aim to be happy and positive, towards ourselves and to each other.
